The British Summertime is now in full swing and we have been lucky enough to have countless days of sunshine so far, with *fingers crossed* many more to come. During the warmer months we all like to switch up our beauty routine, whether it’s digging out your summer glow tanning moisturiser or swapping your usual foundation to a light BB cream. Whilst I am always about the glowy skin, the Summertime is when I need all the bronzing and highlighting products. From prepping the skin, base products to powders, I aim to get glowy skin through all the beauty products in my make up bag. I also feature my favourite hair product of the moment, which is the perfect accompanist to my go-to look. Of course, all the products mentioned are also cruelty free and affordable.

I have been using this light-weight base for months now and I still love it, it covers the skin slightly to give a natural tint and glow to the skin that I love wearing day-to-day paired with the stretch concealer for added coverage. This looks so good layered with the products I will mention later on as it doesn’t look cakey – this can sometimes make the skin look very shiny so perfect for people with dry skin, or just ensure to pop some powder over the top.

I recently picked this up and really love how I can combine a summery foundation with good coverage which is great for those not-so-great skin days where I need more than just a tint. This has SPF 15 whilst still being oil free which is great for the warmer weather. There is a good shade range and I love how I can add the glow through other products and still have the coverage from the base.

I was in the market for a new eyebrow product and this has come through! It is really long lasting which is great for when I wear it at the gym and throughout the day, the whole B. range is really affordable and cruelty free – which is even better.

This is another cult favourite of mine that I have used for over a year now. Not only is a great bronzer for summer but I use it all year round. The colour really suits my skin tone and it gives a really lovely finish to the skin when you want to look sun-kissed and bronzed.

If there were to be anything you take away from this post and purchase it should be this highlighter and blush duo from E.LF. I never really wore blush until I purchased this and it looks so good. I swirl my brush to mix the two and apply to the apples of my cheeks and up to the top of the cheek bone. It creates a subtle flush of colour whilst making the skin looks glowy and healthy. I always go over my Body Shop liquid highlight with the highlighter from this duo and if you like a lot of glow, you’ll love this combo.

These drops of sun are perfect for that extra glow and are really versatile to use, a staple in my summer make up bag. I usually add a couple of drops to my base make up, but you can also add them to your moisturiser or directly onto the skin and blend in with a sponge and use as a liquid bronzer, I would also go over the top with the honey bronzing powder.

I’m now on my second bottle of this only because I literally used the other one up until there was absolutely nothing left in the bottle. This is my favourite highlighting product I’ve used, it’s a beautiful light pink liquid  highlighter that can be used mixed into base make -up or on it’s own. I use this to highlight all over my face before occasionally adding the E.LF powder over the top. I always get compliments on my highlighter and it’s entirely down to this product – an ultimate staple for me not just for Summery make-up. I need this glow everyday!

After finally getting my hair cut after months of needing it,  I have been loving the shorter length and experimenting with new styles. I had been wanting to try the Ouai range for a while and this has been the first product I’ve been loving. This personally works best for me when I have already added waves to my hair, it makes them look more undone and beachy. However if you already have curly hair (mine is very much pin straight) then this would work amazingly. It smells incredible and is definitely my new favourite summer hair care essential.

Another repeat purchase and with good reason. This is one of my favourite tanning products because I always love my skin to be tanned and glowy to match any fake tan and in general make me look more alive. UTAN & tone is also another great cruelty free brand that creates coconut scented tanning products that work well to give you a natural but effective glow. This is a simple face mist that tans your face (and body) that I just can’t go without especially during Summer.

  • The Bondi Sands tan will be featured in an up-coming post.

I hope you enjoyed this little edit of all my favourite beauty products that I use all the time during the Summer months and many of them all year round. If you are looking for that extra bronze and extra glow definitely give some of these products a go, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you for reading.

What are your summer beauty staples?

The Glossier Arrival | First Impressions

Monday 9th October, the day Glossier arrived in the UK. This was one of the most anticipated beauty launches this year and boy I bet did they did well. Every beauty blogger and lover was excited for this drop as the brand was previously only available in America, more specifically in the gorgeous showroom in New York City. This just increased the demand for these minimalistic, no-fuss and vegan makeup, skin care and now body products. I would have bought a lot more if I wasn’t on the terribly restrictive student budget but this was a well justified splurge. I also found a Glossier rep that had a 20% off code on Twitter. I bought three things on that Monday and although they didn’t arrive until a week later, the brand made up for itself by sending a money-off voucher to apologise.

I purchased the cult favourite Stretch Concealer in shade medium, the iconic Milky Jelly Cleanser and the lovely Perfecting Skin Tint in the shade Dark.

The Stretch Concealer – Medium £15

I have only had the products for a couple of days so these really are just first impressions but already I know, like every other Glossier lover, this concealer is my absolute favourite. I was in the market for a new concealer and this fits the bill perfectly. It is creamy and ever so easy to apply. The sleek glass packaging that looks good on any dressing table doesn’t even compare to the product inside. I watched Lydia Millen’s haul video and saw the shades she got –  which I’m so glad I did. The medium is perfect and works so well with the Perfecting Skin Tint too. I pat the concealer in with my finger then use the Laura Mercier translucent powder over the top and it lasts really well. I’m always going to get a little bit of creasing after prolonged wear but it’s great for everyday use as it’s so light and easy to apply.

Milky Jelly Cleanser – £15

The milky jelly cleanser is another cult favourite so I decided it was definitely I wanted to try out.  I really like the gel consistency and I love the almost fragrance free scent making it a basic yet a lovely cleanser. I have only used this to remove minimal makeup and it worked well, although, I feel like I will end up using this a a second cleanse as I don’t want to rush through and finish it. I’m also not sure how effective it will be with a full face of makeup. It leaves my skin refreshed and nourished but I don’t feel like the foruma is groundbreaking on this particular Glossier product, however, it’s a good price for a really nice cruelty free cleanser.

Perfecting Skin Tint – Dark £20

I have never been a full face of makeup kinda gal, unless I’m going on a night out, I tend to keep my makeup pretty natural. I usually  just wear a CC cream and a bit of concealer or dabble a bit of NARS sheer glow for some extra coverage. However, this skin tint is something I have never come across. It’s a very sheer, light coverage product that simply evens out your skintone and add a little bit of colour. I love the way the skin looks with this on paired with the Stretch Concealer as well. The only problem I have is that you do have to use a fair amount of product and the application isn’t the easiest. In saying this, I think I’m going to try and mix it in with my ByTerry CC serum tomorrow to see how my skin looks.

I think the shade matches my skin tone well, but be careful as I got the shade ‘Dark’ and would have to purchase ‘Deep’ in the summer as I think this would be too light. The only trouble is with it being a light consistancy is that my skin can start to look quite shiny. I tend to get an oil T-zone and this does mean I would have to reapply powder throughout the day, it is relativly long lasting though. Aside from this, I will definitely be wearing it all time – it is the perfect product for good skin days that’s for sure.

There are still more products I would love to try out from the brand and I am always on the hunt for new cruelty free beauty products and I think it’s great that a brand with so much surrounded hype is advocating vegan and cruelty free skincare and makeup.

  • Priming Moisturiser
  • Balm Dot Com
  • Cloud Paint
  • Boy Brow
  • Haloscope – Quartz

Have you tried any of the Glossier products I’ve talked about or want to purchase in the future? What’s you favourite cruetly free beauty brands?

Holiday Beauty Favourites

When I’m on holiday, makeup always isn’t always my favourite thing to wear. Needless to say,  I took away with me some new products that I was so desperate to try out and then eventually fell in love with. I also used a few of them to create a really dewy, bronzed look that I was also obsessing over and wearing on the occasions we went out for dinner and drinks. I wanted to share my favourite products that I used throughout the holiday and continuing to use during these warmer months. There’s good mix of some new discoveries and old staples in my routine.

By Terry Cellularose CC Serum – Sunny Flash £61

It is safe to say this incredible skin care product has become my one of my all-time beauty favourites and I would be lost without it. I very rarely wear foundation anymore on a daily basis as this product makes my skin look glowy, flawless and bronzed that I feel I don’t need anything else, especially on holiday you want to let your skin breathe and not weigh it down with heavy makeup. I would really recommend getting the shade ‘sunny flash’ as it adds a gorgeous tint of colour as well. IMG_0175

The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder – Dark Golden Matte 05 £14

I’ve never been into bronzer or blush but recently I’ve been focusing on my base makeup and wearing very minimal mascara to achieve a natural bronzed look. It was this product that changed the game. I really love the way it looks paired with the ByTerry serum underneath. I’m now looking to really expand my Body Shop makeup collection as the quality is so good and they’re cruelty free too.

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette – Pink Lemonade £10 | Icing Sugar, Macaroon, Pink Mint

As I just mentioned, I’m not really one for blush but I did find myself reaching for his palette whilst I was away, to balance out the bronze and add even more glow. Included is two gorgeous pink toned, shimmery blushes and one brighter pink cream blush. They are super pigmented so I just add a little and they add a really nice flush of colour.

Versace Bright Crystal Eau De Toilette  £30

This sweet, spring scent is curently on sale on FeelUnique and if you love floral but very fresh scents this would be one for you. This Versace perfume is such a lovely scent especially for the Summertime, it’s light but still lasts really well. I’m just gutted I’ve nearly ran out!

The Body Shop Lip Liner £8

I’m unsure on the colour as it isn’t written on the pencil but this lip liner is a lushous coral shade that I used alongside a Topshop lipstick for the ultimate coral lip combination. I love this shade and corals always look so nice with a bronzed makeup look or a tan. It’s a really decent liner that’s creamy and lasts well too, really impressed.

Topshop Lipstick – Ditsy (similar) £8

The second part to the coral lip combination was this Topshop lipstick in the colour ‘Ditsy’. This was the first Topshop lipstick I bought and still probably my favourite. I couldn’t find the exact one but any bright coral shade works perfectly with tanned, glowy makeup. These lipticks are so moisturising but so pigmented and very affordable. Love!

Nieva In-Shower Body Moisturiser £3

I absolutely had to include this body product as I used it to death whilst I was away and still use it all the time now. This makes you skin feel amazing and so nourished, which is ideal when you’re on holiday and the sun is drying your skin out. You apply this after your usual shower wash and it’s as easy as that. It smells so nice and leaves you skin feeling super smooth as well.
