After years of aspiring to become a fashion writer, Ellie has begun to build her portfolio of experience within the industry alongside studying Fashion Marketing and Media at UoW.  Following a number of personal blogs, Ellie has adapted this current site to encompass a variety of topics and examples of previous work as featured by Fashion Scout, Ringwood Life magazine and FS/AW.

Ellie is currently working as a copywriter for a luxury fashion brand based in London that offers bespoke workwear and occasion styles to empower women of all walks of life. Tasks have included writing cohesive brand guidelines, social media marketing, blog writing and miscellaneous copywriting text.

Going into her final year of University, Ellie will be co-managing the University of Winchester’s new Fashion Society and corresponding blog with goals to expand the society and build networks within the industry.

Fashion Scout Events:

Ellie worked at Fashion Scout Events within the digital team as a writer for two seasons, AW18 and SS19. This fast-paced environment brought key lessons within catwalk reporting, interviewing and sponsored writing. Well prepared research and background information on designers and leading trends paved the way for an array of exciting and engaging catwalk pieces that are all featured on the Fashion Scout website.

Ringwood Life Magazine:

As an experimental local magazine, Ringwood Life published a handful of issues for the people of Ringwood which featured upcoming events and style articles. Ellie wrote about a number of trending topics that were key within the magazine and this was her first work published in print. This premise encourages creative freedom and the vitality of writing for a broad audience and choosing topics accordingly.

FS/AW:

FS/AW is the University of Winchester’s newly formed Fashion Society that aims to bring together style, fashion and business people-alike to write and discuss everything fashion. Moving into September 2019, co-chair’s Ellie and Bethan hope to expand the society and build the website and blog to engage with readers and network with industry insiders. The society blog offers a range of industry pieces with style and trend articles with a focus on sustainability. Definitely, need to watch this space…
