Copenhagen Fashion Week is by far one of my favourites. Firstly; the celebration of Scandinavian style is perpetuated through innovative brands, then the street-style is good enough for anyone to want to change up their look,. Also, because it kick starts fashion month and the immense AW inspo.

As Stockholm Fashion Week was cancelled this season in order to focus on achieving a more sustainable way of showcasing the newest trends, Copenhagen was highly anticipated.

  1. By Malene Birger

As a renowned Danish brand within the fashion scope and one in which has excelled in aesthetic style through incorporating oversized silhouettes and a neutral colour palette. This season continued these themes as asymmetric cuts and androgynous looks made their way down the catwalk. I particularly enjoyed the use of white hues, conflicted with contrast stitching, accessories and silk textures. The layered looks were kept minimal but effective, alluding a relaxed theme for spring/summer next year.

GANNI prides itself on noting Copenhagen style influences, but not being limited by the minimalism of Scandinavian trends – as stated by CPH Fashion Week press. For SS20, it has been mentioned that the brand has taken a new direction ‘Ganni 2.0’ and invited better fabrics and tailoring. Elevation within the brand was demonstrated by taking a step away from their synonymous feminine prints and moving towards a more street-luxe approach. Animal prints, vogue styling and splashes of trend-heavy, bright green hues.

3. Samsøe Samsøe

As a brand not yet on my radar, it was interesting to see the array of styles that enable their customer to dress for occasions such as work or evening event. The mix of textiles inhabit a laid-back ambience, whilst intriguing accessories add an accent of vogue. The blend of masculine and feminine looks alludes a simple style, with oversized silhouettes, longline hems and billowing sleeves creating a minimalist approach. One in which encapsulates the brand wonderfully.

What were your favourite shows / which designers are you excited to see this season?
