SHOW INSIGHT: INIFD LST (GROUP 1)

DAY TWO

Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week

Returning for a 4th season, The Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), based in India, is a prestigious design academy that specialises in fashion and interior design. With 25,000 ambitious and creative students attending each year, the institution is associated with The London School of Trends (LST) in creating innovative fashion designers of the future.

Shipra Singh, Chirag Bhagwani, Mehrish Pahilani, Payal Tiwari, Jayshree Patel, Ronak Sayyed, Sanstuti Mishra, Arvinder Kaur, Nisha Sundrani and Aman Khaneja all showcased their wonderful collections. The abundance of talent was incredible to see as models made their way down the catwalk wearing a huge variety of prints and textiles, displaying many technical skills.

A remix of Beyonce’s Run The World was playing as we saw a melting pot of textures and embellishment. Gold threaded jacquard trousers, blush pink satin dresses,  baby blue tulle sleeves as well as a gorgeous jade green embellished bomber jacket all truly celebrated traditional Asian textile designs as well as incorporating more contemporary styles. The trend-led grey check print jackets were paired with pink cotton dresses.

Themes of feminine empowerment were evident as models walked dominantly down the runway wearing fuchsia pink heels embellished with crystal studs. Adding a further touch of glamour were the huge sequins sew on to garments, trailing down the sides of the dresses.

Statement metallic  jewellery was consistent throughout the show, clashing against the vibrant patterns and prints on the transeasonal garments. The models wore white make-up in the centre of their face, creating a strong contrast against the pink and blue eyeshadow. The models’ hair was tied at the back in small buns, displaying the matching headwear.

With students in over 11 different countries and 4 continents, including Dubai, Bangladesh and Nepal. They aim to mould their students to work with the ever-changing dynamics of the digital age in order to be well-rounded, skilled designers.
